Abstract

We present the case of a 1-year-and-6-month-old girl diagnosed with infantile cerebral palsy (ICP), partial left hemiplegia, and severe psychomotor delay. She was first seen at the Early Stimulation Clinic of the Universidad Santa Clara de Asís-USCA, Caaguazú, in November 2020, after access difficulties during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Psychomotor Developmental Assessment Scale (PDAS) yielded a standardized score of 0.66, indicating significant delay. The intervention focused on gross and fine motor skills and language, with the active participation of the mother and grandmother, who were trained to continue stimulation at home. This case highlights the importance of early, personalized, and family-focused interventions to improve functionality and quality of life in children with infantile cerebral palsy.
