Abstract

Basal cell carcinomas are malignant epithelial tumors of cutaneous location. They are related to ultraviolet radiation frequently. BCC is the most common skin cancer in humans, it represents approximately 70-80% of non-melanoma skin cancers in the white-skinned population over 60 years of age. Its incidence rate has increased by 20% in the last 2 decades and has involved younger age groups. Patient RCL, an 85-year-old female, goes to the SENEPA Leishmaniosis department of Colonel Oviedo to consult for suspected Leishmaniosis. Upon inspection, a dermatosis located in the nasal area with lesion of raised edges and erythematosus of 8x5cm is observed, necrotic appearance with granulomatous tissues and meliceric crusts, loss of nasal cartilage and exposed nasal septum. Samples were taken for studies whose relevant results were: Pathological anatomy: Ulcerated basal cell carcinoma. The patient was referred to INCAN, where the surgical treatment was rejected by her relatives, abandoning other treatments. The incidence of skin cancer is a growing phenomenon especially in the elderly population, associated with the increase in life expectancy, so it requires adequate and timely promotion, prevention, treatment measures that lead to disease control in our means, medium. It is important to disclose the damage caused by solar radiation from early stages of life.
